The Other Side

Hurricane Irene has come and gone.  We had some water come in through the ceiling, windows, and walls.  Our dock was also turned about 90 degrees in one section, and sank in another (I keep pulling planks that floated off out of the brush when they wash back up on shore).  We have a lot of debris that has washed up on shore - the kids are enjoying the treasures they are finding (buoys, floats, tennis balls, etc.).  Other than that, we were very luckily.

I spent 3.5 hours on Sunday cleaning up the yard.  I have not weeded all the flower beds since last year.  I did not mulch this year, either.  I know, I know.  It was one of those projects that got so out of hand, I did not even know where to start.  At least it is finished now, and all I should do is weed eat to hedge, and trim the large bushes. I said should.

Right now, though, I cannot move my right hand due to the blisters from pulling all the weeds and debris out of my yard.
